Life In Miri

Months back, I went to Miri for a mini vacation. Being a food lover, I took the opportunity to gobble as much as the nice town has to offer. It was all about serious eating. Everyone on the trip had zero opportunity to feel hungry.

This is me in Miri. Sober.

The asses u see at the back are Johnny's and Weng May's.

This is our great host who happened to be a local.

I think he was trying to point his middle finger to the waitress.
Back to the trip, the minute we, as in the 6 of us, landed in the Miri International Airport, MIA, he got us to check into a comfortable little hotel and then off to rent a car.

After that we went for a tea somewhere near the Bintang Plaza. They serve some really good stuff over there.

Some fried sweet potatoes, yam, prawn crackers with the sweet sauce.

That went well with some sweet ABC.
The cuttlefish was amazing.

After that, we went for a walk at the beach nearby.  Nice beautiful and breezy beach.

So after all the walking, people started to get hungry. So we went for some dinner. Just a bit.

Appetizer : Friend Ice Cream and Umai.
The fried ice cream was normal typical fried ice cream. No big deal. However, the umai was awesome. That was my very first time tasting Umai. It's basically raw fish that goes with some vinegar, onion, and ginger. Classic native food of Melanau. Basically it's a local version of your sashimi and it's cheap.

Then some fried koay teow which was normal. Definitely not as good as the Penang version.

All went down with the drinks that would be ordered every single day in that trip. Teh C special. Love it. Three layer milk tea.

For dessert, we went for Kolo Mee. This was the darker version, not the white ones.

OK joking. That was our second round dinner. By then, everyone was pretty stuffed to the max especially the girls. So we went back to the hotel and called it a day.
