A Look Back at the Resolutions

I've made up a list of resolutions last year. The list consisted on the things I wanted to change about my lifestyle and habits. Here's the thing I realise about resolutions. I am very motivated to follow the routine and plans that I've had for myself, BUT only for the first half of the year. By the time the second half of the year arrives, I tend to fail them miserably.

Let's have a look at my resolutions last year.

Stay healthy, eat healthy, sleep early, exercise regularly
I've had some pretty healthy meals, and managed to stay rather healthy throughout the year (except for the last month). I fell sick so less frequent compared to the previous year when I fell sick almost every 2 months. I've cut out a lot of instant noodles which is a good thing. I think cutting on the instant noodles did help in improving my health. So I'll stick to the same plan this time. As for exercise regularly, I was extremely active for the first half of the year. It gradually went down on the second half. However, I am fine as long as exercise routines go on.

Here's the hard part. SLEEP EARLY. I think I failed that miserably. I've had countless number of nights (or should I say morning) where I saw the SUN rise before I slept. Some say it's the express lane to age yourself. LOL. Tell me what do you think. That's me at the beginning and end of year.

Aged ?
That being said, I FAILED to sleep early. As for the rest, I am happy.

Cut down on unnecessary expenses, Save money
This is where it all went WRONG. Not just any plain wrong. I think it was catastrophic. I failed to manage my cash flow properly. The only time I managed to have everything under control was until April. That was not even half of the year yet. After that, there were times when I overspent and underspent. More like a sinusoidal graph. This is so wrong.

In a nutshell, this is a PHAILLLLL.

Stop procrastinating, Work hard
Oh procrastination. I've managed to curb this habit of procrastinating for the first half of the year. Then just when I thought I've managed to stay away from last minute work, I started to procrastinate a little again. Before I knew it, this little evil bug was already all over me. Let's not go into the countless last minute work I've had. FAIL.

Run the Penang Bridge Run Full Marathon Again
This actually set itself on a failure. The Penang Bridge Run scheduled for June was called off. Later, the marathon was on again in November, a month I was not around in Penang. But I managed to participate in the Borneo International Marathon which was held for the very first time in Sabah. It was such a great event. I am up for it again this year. Definitely. So I think I did this one just right.

Regardless of all the resolutions, I've had a really great year. I've got it right where it really mattered the most, a very enjoyable and joyful year. A progress from the previous one. Thank you everyone for making my year a great one. The minute 2008 arrived, I had a great feeling it was going to be a great one. I somehow felt it and it sure did not disappoint. However this time around, I can't say the same. I have no idea what this year has in store for me. Absolutely no idea, and the idea of a global recession does not help either. Let's put that aside and be optimistic. Hopefully this year will be another great one for all of us.

As for resolutions this year, I've yet to have some in mind.

So Haillllll Peter Petrelli. :)
